Locked-in syndrome is a rare neurological disorder caused by complete paralysis of the voluntary muscles in a body except for the eye muscles.
The indications for the Locked-in syndrome include:
• Paralysis of the body muscles
• Paralysis of the lower cranial nerves
• Inability to move
• Inability to show any facial expressions
• Inability to communicate except by coded eye movements
• Possibility of vertical eye movement i.e., blinking of the eye.
