Dental plaque is basically whitish yellow sticky film which is present on the external surface of teeth and acts as a substrate for bacterial attack. There are different ways to examine the availability of plaque yourself.
• Disclosing tablets or solution is easily available in pharmacy store. Open the packet and follow the instructions carefully. Rinse mouth with the solution. If plaque is present in teeth it will get discolored or turned red. You can easily locate the discolored areas in mirror and try to brush more in discolored areas.
• Take some white cotton cloth. Rub it on the teeth. If some sticky yellowish coating is present on cloth, it means plaque is there.
