A patient with severe systemic disease that limits activity but is not incapacitating. | Dental therapy with possible strict limitations or special considerations. Anesthetic modalities generally contraindicated on an outpatient basis. |
A patient with incapacitating systemic disease that is a constant threat of life. | Emergency dental therapy only with severe limitations or special considerations. Anesthetic modalities in the dental office absolutely contraindicated. |
